Looking back at how my career was 4 years ago, was a disaster! I almost got fired for making up lame & silly excuses from either being late or most of the time absent. And when I’m at work, I spent my time on the phone, not because I work in a call center as a QAR, but to chit-chat using my cellphone. Oh! And one more thing. There were days when I am always seen in the sleeping quarters…dozing off for almost half of my entire shift. And my quality of work…sucks!
Let me paint you a picture of how I usually spend my time at work (whenever I’m at work).
Shift: 9:00PM-5:30AM
9:00-9:45 (still on my way to work) LATE
10:00-12:30 (scan 5-7 calls)
12:30-2:30 (talk to friends- cellphone)
2:00-3:00 (lunch)
3:00-5:30 (scan calls until I reach my quota- 20 scans)
So how did this lousy employee become a Training & Quality Supervisor? Could it be out of sheer luck? Kissing my-boss-ass? Miracle? I guess these are questions your asking yourself now. But I’ll tell you this, it’s what I would call reality check! Because when I did… it bit me so hard that I pulled myself together, brushed the dust off.. then tried again.
Whoever said I could never make it? Well, they’re wrong. I found out who I really was… it’s never to late to change. And look what I’ve become… I now have people who depends on me and believes in me… my Team!
So don’t be surprised if one day you’ll see me representing a company as VP! Who knows? Nobody ever thought that I’d be s supervisor back then.
Now that I am here, I will never go back to that pit hole.. it’s dirty…it stinks…and there’s not much money (if you know what I mean). And there’s no other way, than to go up!
