Here’s one question most single women have been waiting to hear… “Will you marry me?” Being engaged is one of the most unforgettable moment of your life. Finally, you’ve met the ONE! And so it’s time to plan for The Day… your wedding day!

Planning your wedding is really exciting and tiring. There are days when you feel like saying “Let’s just get married tomorrow… to get this done and over with!” If you’re that type of soon-to-be bride who wants everything worked up by somebody else, you should get a wedding coordinator! They offer different packages that suits your budget, schedule and taste. If you think that planning your own wedding may eat up most of your time and energy, get the full coordination package. In this way, your coordinator will work all the planning details for you from day 1. But if you really want to be involved and you want to experience how it feels to plan your own wedding (since it’s juts a once in a life time moment), you can get the On-The-Day Coordination. The coordinator will just help  you prepare  at least two weeks before the wedding and on the day itself.

First thing to consider is THE Date. This is when the fun begins! Draw up a time table based on the chosen date to determine what should be done first. Discuss this with your fiancée. Both of you should determine a priority list. The list should include: mailing invitations, picking up the rings, booking the church and reception site etc.

Budget. Again, talk to your fiancée. He should know how much you intend to spend on the wedding. And mind you, this is one of the most difficult to do. If you’re a big F.R.E.I.N.D.S fan, you will remember what happened when Monica told Chandler she wants a big wedding and that Chandler does not want to spend his entire savings on that day. Communication- that’s the key! If You don’t have enough savings yet and you plan to splurge on your wedding and you only have a year before THE Day… better start saving! It’s nice when your family, friends or your Ninongs/Ninangs would say “Sagot ko na yung…” If they offer to sponsor your wedding rings, flowers, or photo/videos etc.. Don’t refuse. It only means that they’re also excited about your wedding. Oh! and don’t deny it. It sure is a big relief! Whew!

The quest. Now it’s time to look for the perfect place. I always believe that if it’s the right place, you would again hear those wedding bells and you’ll have flashbacks of how you & your fiancée started dating. Don’t just pick the church or the reception site because you know it would look nice and elegant in the pictures, or because that’s where one of the famous movie stars had their wedding or because it’s recommended by one of your friends. These are just some of the things to consider. But what’s important is you should have that feeling! The hard-to-explain feeling. You also want to consider the distance. Usually, it’s ideal that the church and reception site are close to each other. You don’t want your guests complain how far the reception site is from the church. Would you?

When it’s over, what will be left behind aside from the memories??? Pictures and Videos! So make sure not to be stingy in picking the right photographer/videographer. You don’t want to end up knowing that the photographer took pictures with the lens close. Total disaster! Get a photographer that’s accredited. Ask for sample pictures/video. Believe me, it’s worth it.

Attend wedding exhibits and Bridal fairs/Expos. This is where you can get discounts if you’ll get on-the-spot bookings. And usually the big names in the wedding events industry are there.

Surf..surf..surf… technology has it’s way of meeting your demands. Use your internet! You’ll find great ideas and suggestions.
